Compliance and paperwork

Contaminated material from this work is classed as clinical or hazardous waste. We segregate, package and remove it through registered waste carriers, and you receive the waste transfer or consignment note, which is what your duty of care under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 requires you to keep. Chemicals are used under COSHH assessments, and every job has a site-specific risk assessment and method statement.

We cover England, Scotland and Wales from our London office, with trauma and unattended death cleaning available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Trauma and unattended death cleaning: common questions

Can you deal with the landlord or insurer directly?

Yes. With your permission we can quote, invoice and report directly to the landlord, managing agent or insurer so you don't have to manage it yourself.

How long does a trauma clean take?

Most residential trauma cleans are completed within one to three days, depending on how long the property was left and how far contamination has spread into flooring and subfloors.

Will the smell go completely?

In most cases, yes. Odour comes from contaminated material, so we remove the source first, then treat the air and surfaces. We only sign off once the odour is gone.

Who pays for trauma cleaning in a rented property?

It depends on the tenancy, the insurance in place and the circumstances. Costs are often met by the estate, the landlord's insurer or the housing provider. We can quote the relevant party directly.

Do family members need to be present?

No. Once we have access arrangements we can complete the work without family members attending, and we set aside personal items and documents we find.
