Compliance and paperwork

Contaminated material from this work is classed as clinical or hazardous waste. We segregate, package and remove it through registered waste carriers, and you receive the waste transfer or consignment note, which is what your duty of care under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 requires you to keep. Chemicals are used under COSHH assessments, and every job has a site-specific risk assessment and method statement.

We cover England, Scotland and Wales from our London office, with needle sweeps and sharps removal available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Needle sweeps and sharps removal: common questions

Can you set up regular sweeps?

Yes. Many clients book weekly or monthly sweeps of problem areas, with a report after each visit so trends can be tracked.

What do you do with the needles?

They go into approved sharps containers and are disposed of as clinical waste through licensed carriers.

Can you clear a property used for drug activity?

Yes. We clear and decontaminate properties affected by drug use, including removal of drug paraphernalia and deep cleaning.

What should someone do after a needlestick injury?

Encourage the wound to bleed, wash it with soap and running water without scrubbing, cover it, and get urgent medical advice from A&E or a GP the same day. Report it under your accident reporting procedure.

Do councils collect needles?

Many councils remove discarded needles from public land. Needles on private land, in buildings or car parks are usually the landowner's responsibility, which is where we come in.
